Washi Tape Bookmarks!

My 2 older children and I had a blast making Washi Tape Bookmarks! We started with adorable double sided paper cut to 3" by 6" We wrapped colorful strips of washi tape  around both sides of the paper Then cut the strips in half...so 1 1/2" wide. Rounded the corners and punched a hole in them...then Stuck them in a laminator pouch and laminated them! Then used a slightly smaller hole punch and punched the plastic covering the hole. Tied on some colorful bakers twine... And started reading! Adorable! Laminating keeps that cute washi tape in place permanently! Of course you could do it with just washi tape and paper too! Doctor Who Clara Oswald Inspired Collar Necklace!

Make your own Collar Necklace!  I was inspired by Clara Oswald's dress in the latest  Doctor Who episode: Journey to the Centre of the Tardis! If I was going to do a cosplay, it would be of this outfit of Clara's!  Love it!  I did some lace collars a while back...and they are simple and darling too! Here's the basic pattern I drew out on paper...it fits an 8 by 10 sheet...  Pick your desired fabric.  Something that doesn't have stretch...trust me on this! Put the right sides of your material together and pin on the pattern I cut it out about a half to quarter inch with pinking shears... then traced the pattern with silver sharpie... Sewed right along the sharpie lines leaving a couple inches open at the top like so... make tiny snips around the entire thing, careful not to cut the thread you just sewed! This will make it curve better when you flip it right side out! Then take one side and ope...

Update a Framed Mirror with Duck Tape!

Turn a blah mirror into a fresh "How did you do that" mirror!!! Using patterned Duck Tape brand duct tape! I had this mirror...painted and glazed, but not much else going on with it... Just roll out a strip of duct tape... cut in half...or to fit your frame... Lay it on the flat part of the frame... TA DA!!!  Love it! Looks like HOURS of work... but only took a few minutes!  :) Linking up to THESE parties this week!

Building Character and Growing Plants!

This post brought to you by Miracle-Gro . All opinions are 100% mine. Here's a super fun project you can do with your children this summer!  We used some old tights and filled the toe with grass seed. Then added soil.  Then tied it off, gave it a face...and sat it in a decorated yogurt container. We poured water in the container and it soaked right in. After about 10 days, that little guy was ready for hair cuts and eyebrow plucking! Your children will be THRILLED!
