Winged Helmet Headband!
Okay, winged helms are awesome!
I had my hubby make me this winged helm and armor about 6 years ago.
Wore it again last year too!
But not everyone can make a helm out of metal.
And frankly, it's heavy!
So, we did a headband variety!
Made with fun foam!
Perfect for a Valkyrie, Hermes, Mercury, Thor's winged helm!
(really, you could add a winged headband to tons of other costumes too!)
I used a 5 by 7 piece of paper and cut a winged pattern.
Then cut 2 out of foam. We used white...
but we painted it, so any color would work!
Then I cut 2 smaller wings for the inside.
Painted them gold...both sides.
Let them dry.
Then hot glue a little dab on the foam and the headband.
Then I used a needle and thread and just tacked it in place.
knotted it and put a dab of hot glue on the ends of the thread.
Simply making an X
Then I ran a bead of hot glue around the edge of the little
wing piece and glued it over the other,
covering the thread tack.
Totally worthy of Asgard! :)
