I got mine from Steals.com...they have lots of daily deals, so I scored this for cheap!

I wanted some parts in red, some in blue and the rest in gold.
I used small pieces of tape to hold the foil together.
As long as it is not directly over the print, it's fine...
This laminator is worth it!
I got this for my birthday 5 years ago and love it.
Worth every penny.
It leaves the shiny behind, right where the print was!
You can see some mistakes, but so awesome!
I just taped it to an interchangeable frame I use!

I used foil like that years ago, and I believe it said you can also use a copy machine, as the toner is basically the same in laser printers and copy machines. I put it back through the laser printer to adhere the foil, though. I would imagine a household iron, without steam, could be used as well. Where there's a will there's a way!! :)
