Harry Potter Hogwarts Feast Recipes with Hamilton Beach Slow Cooker!
The magic of Hogwarts isn't the moving staircases, the trolls in the dungeon, the 3 headed dog guarding a trap door, the live photographs...it's the Great Hall and the amazing food! Am I right!? The never ending piles and spreads of food. Everything you can imagine and could possibly want. You'll notice if you watch the shows closely, there's hardly any green veggies. There's no rice, pasta or carb filler. It's just the good stuff. Piles of chicken legs and baskets of buttery corn! This is truly why everyone wants their Hogwarts acceptance letter.
You know you would have been just like Ron, 2 hands--2 chicken legs!
This Hogwarts nostalgia makes this Back-to-School with Hamilton Beach post super timely! Hamilton Beach sent me this amazing Slow Cooker and carrying caddy. The best part about this slow cooker is that it can make a giant Hogwarts feast!
You will need:
8 Chicken Legs
1/2 pound of baby carrots
3 large potatoes
1 large onion
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
Sliced Mushrooms
(Corn on the cob or Rolls optional)
Place the chicken in the center of the slow cooker. Dump baby carrots on one side and chunky diced potatoes on the other side. Thickly slice the onion and put it on top of the potatoes. Then add 1/4 cup of Worcestershire sauce and cover with the lid.
Set the slow cooker on low and set to 6 hours. Set it and forget it!
After 6 hours, everything is cooked beautifully without stirring a single time! You can check the meat with the digital thermometer probe right through the top of the lid, without opening it. Can't get to it right when the timer goes off?...not to worry, this slow cooker automatically switches to the "Keep Warm" setting.

However, the chicken is not crisp...
If you are a crispy chicken person, like me, place the chicken legs on a baking sheet and broil on high for 5 minutes or until golden and crispy.
While those legs are broiling, add a cup of mushroom slices to the top of the veggies in the slow cooker and cover again. Let the mushrooms steam for 5 minutes or so.
Until they are soft and ready to eat.
Boil corn and butter rolls and serve up this fancy feast!
This was so yummy...the chicken and the veggies were cooked to perfection!
