Cozy Sweater Hot Cocoa Bar Party + Service Project!
This is a great holiday party idea for kids, teens or adults. Hot chocolate is the best, I live off of it all Winter long. I love adding in fun flavored syrups or other mix-ins! Let me show you how to host the perfect Ugly Cozy Sweater party and throw a service project in on the side too! This party is geared toward any age, although we had 10 teenage girls (plus a few brothers) that participated.
You will need:
Small Crock Pot for warming hot chocolate
Donuts
Candy Canes
Mini Chocolate Chips
Mini Marshmallows
Candy Sticks
Mugs or Teacups
More Candy
We used the Cricut Explore Air 2 to cut out these adorable little sweaters. Perfect invites for this party. My daughter and I drew on them with white gelly roll pens with all the details for her friends.
Easy Party Backdrop made with white paper chains, 3D snowflakes and some wire LED lights.
Every guest comes wearing a comfortable or ugly sweater! Table is set with a white tablecloth and all the goodies. Instead of exchanging gifts like some parties, we decided to do a service project instead to give smiles to others.
I took these pictures before I filled up the crockpot with hot chocolate.
Okay here is where the fun service comes in. For the service, which is great for any age, we made handmade cards. Cards for Hospitalized Kids makes sure to deliver cards to children in hospitals over the holidays. We picked to make holiday cards, which there are some guidelines, since there are many religions/holidays represented. However, they accept cards all year long, so this does not have to be holiday related.
I set out little stamped (or printed off) images, washi tape, colored pencils, tape runners, card stock in various colors...and the kids went to town! They created beautiful cards to send to children in hospitals. Adorable, right!? See, perfect service project for ANY age!
Then simply mail the cards to:
Cards for Hospitalized Kids
7290 W. DevonChicago, IL 60631
Sit and color, tape and assemble a card or two while sipping delicious hot chocolate and eating other sweet treats! It's a great way to celebrate the season with people you love and also give back a little by thinking of others in harder circumstances. Happy Holidays!
