Seasoned Fries Recipe for Air Fryer!
Seasoned fries are the best--and no added oil when using an Air Fryer! This makes toasting and crisping food a snap. These fries are delicious and they are just the beginning of what is possible with an air fryer.I'm a girl from Utah and I love fry sauce. What do you like to dip your fries in? A chocolate shake is pretty good for dipping. I love dipping sauce combos and barbecue sauce. Sometimes I make a meal based on the kind of sauce I want. Haha, fries are always a great choice!
What is an Air Fryer?
Air Fryers, simply put, are compact convection ovens. They circulate hot air around a basket that holds your food. The Hamilton Beach Air Fryer is an easy-to-use counter top appliance that produces crispy food quickly with less fat than a deep fryer. This Air Fryer is 2.6 quart size. It's pretty large, but I might be tempted to get a bigger one. Like this one is 3.2 quarts. Bigger is better, right?
Here's a quick recipe to test out an Air Fryer:
1 package of French Fries (or 4 medium potatoes cut into strips)1 Tablespoon salt
1 Tablespoon paprika
1 Tablespoon garlic powder
1 Tablespoon of olive oil
Step 1:
Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Then mix thoroughly in bowl.Step 2:
Dump the seasoned fries directly into the clean Air Fryer basket. The Air Fryer base has a removable basket that latches in place while cooking.Step 3:
Set the Air Fryer temperature to 400* and begin the frying process for 20 minutes. No preheating needed. It just works and works fast!At 10 minutes, I like to pull the basket out and shake up the contents to make sure all of the fries are evenly cooked and crisped. Then reinsert the basket and it will continue cooking.
After just 20 minutes they are crisp and toasted, like putting them in a toaster oven. No deep frying needed to get these perfect. The Air Fryer also works great for crisping up any food. Now mix up some fry sauce or other fabulous dipping sauce and rock out!
We use it regularly! No really, the Air Fryer has a permanent spot on the counter now, I use it nearly every day. It's super fast and ultra convenient.
It's easy to maintain and clean. Just remove the base and basket and wash with hot, soapy water.
If you are like me, most days I have potatoes in the pantry. These fries work amazingly with fresh potatoes, they just need a little longer cooking time. They are soft on the inside and crisp on the outside, with barely any oil added!
This honestly makes these "healthier" to eat than a typical loaded potato! My kids and husband can't tell a difference, these are the best fries. Here's a batch we did with 4 medium potatoes. I leave the skins on and just love the flavor of these fries!
But an Air Fryer doesn't end with fries. This is perfect for cooking and crisping up hot wings, onion rings, shrimp, chicken legs and other meat too! We've used it for reheating food and giving it the original crispiness that it had previously. Works great for sweet potato fries too.
It's a fun way to try "frying" everything. Without adding extra fat but getting the perfect crispness! Check out this post for Air Fryer Donuts!
