Letterboard 3D Flowers with Cricut Maker and DCWV Paper DIY

Paper is one of my favorite crafting mediums. It's inexpensive and always plentiful, at least at my house. I love the bright colors, the glitter, the double sided, patterned and simple paper. I decided to do a fun Mother's day craft, but can be used any time of year. Dimensional flowers to use as pins on a letterboard...they are perfect with a mother's day quote!

Learn to make 3D flowers to decorate a letterboard using DCWV paper and the Cricut Maker.

The pins just slip in between the layers of the letterboard, just like the letters...and they stay put! Make an entire bouquet, turn it into a floral wreath with a simple word inside...or just a few flowers to add color here and there.

I love DCWV Letterboards, they are plastic--not felt, so they look perfect all the time and don't collect dust. The 1 inch and 2 inch letters both fit in the letterboard and I love them. This one is 16X20 and I love the size of it.

Supplies Needed:

DCWV Double Sided Paper Stack

Thumbtacks

Hot Glue/Gun

Cricut Maker

Cricut Design Space™

Glitter cardstock double sided paper stack.

Pick any color of paper and have the Cricut Maker cut the flowers and centers out.

Repeat with several colors of paper. Using double sided paper helps, so you automatically double the colors you have available to work with...and they also look fabulous from behind.

Once the flowers are cut, take the time to hot glue them together to form 3D shapes. Roll the spiral shapes and hot glue them closed. Hot glue the centers into the center of the flowers and hot glue the leaves on the flowers also.

Now hot glue a thumbtack on the backside of each flower. The pointy end is a little too long and too pointed...we don't want to mark up the letterboard.

Simply clip the tip of the thumbtack off with some wire cutting pliers. About 1/8th of an inch is all it needs. Then test them out in the letterboard and see how it feels.

Use wire cutting pliers to clip the tip of the thumbtack off each 3D cardstock paper flower.

The flowers are so bright and colorful, I love the pink leaves!
