DIY Marbling Stationery: Classic Black and White
Marbling paper is so fun and super simple. I taught a class at Pinners conference last November and had about 100 people learn how to marble stationery. It's a great way to make custom cards, table settings, wedding invites and table numbers, hanging art or other paper crafts. It just takes a few supplies to get started. Check out the fun videos at the end of the post!
Supplies Needed:
Easy MarbleSmooth cards and envelopes
Shallow disposable basin that fits the size of the card
Toothpick
Acetone and cotton pads for clean-up
Paper towels
Water
~
Pour some water into the shallow dish. Just about 1/4 inch deep.
Open the lids to the Easy Marble, once you start dropping you need to work fast before it hardens. It's similar to enamel nail polish...but nail polish will not do what this Easy Marble does.
Once ready, drop one drop in the water.
Grab the next color and drop one drop in the water.
Continue alternating the drops of color in a bullseye pattern.
After about 10 drops, use the tooth pick to swirl the Easy Marble. There's not a lot of play time once the paint has been dropped in the water...so swirl it quickly.
Then hold the paper with your fingers (you might want to wear gloves)...and press it right into the paint on the water.
Lift it out and enjoy the look! It's super fun and addictive. I love marbling!
Repeat the process with the stationery. Just open the card and press one edge in the water. Lift out quickly.
I haven't had issues with the paper getting wet, but watercolor paper definitely takes the water better. Just set the card on the table to dry.
That's it! Add some hand lettering if desired, but otherwise, it's as simple as that!
