10 Quick Dinner Ideas for Back-to-School!
Aw, man, it's back-to-school...back to responsibilities again! I feel like Summer break went by much too quickly. Now it's time to build a routine, get back on track, tackle responsibilities and sink into the monotony of life again. Really though, I am a homeschool mom. I've homeschooled all my kids, their whole lives. This year my middle child, the daughter, is going to go to public high school as a sophomore. It's definitely going to mean some lifestyle changes for us...and yes, sticking us to a strict schedule. To help combat this, I'm going to be better at dinner planning, but I love quick dinners! Plus, enter the giant Back-to-School giveaway at the end of the post!
The secret to having quick dinners, is planning ahead. If it's 5:00 pm and everyone is already hungry...and nothing is planned, it's way too easy to go out. So with a little bit of preparation, these quick meals will have you combating that busy schedule with delicious food!
Rhodes bread sent me these fun cookbooks using their frozen dough along with some coupons. Let me show you how easy dinner can be with a little planning and prep.
Here's the secret: Plan DINNER while you are cleaning up Breakfast.
Best tip ever, right? While you are clearing up bowls, cups and rinsing dishes or loading them in the dishwasher, think about what you need to do for dinner. In this case, opening a package of Rhodes Bake N Serve Dinner rolls, could not be simpler!Place 20 rolls on a lightly greased baking sheet and cover with a plastic cover. These are the best--and they are a great gift too!
Then place them on the counter and let them rise for 5 hours...or stick them in the fridge and let them rise for 8-10 hours. Decide which time works best depending on what time you want dinner to be ready and if you want the rolls warm or room temperature.
Then bake them in the oven for 15-20 minutes at 350*
Here's 10 Quick Dinner Ideas for Back-to-School using Rhodes Bread:
- Pulled Pork Sandwiches (as pictured)
(the same time you start rising the bread dough, throw some pork loin in the crock pot and slow cook all day. Serve with chips, grapes, salad, etc.)
- Harry Potter Hogwarts Feast (all cooked in the crock pot)
- Homemade Cream of Chicken Soup (served with warm rolls)
- Ham and Cheese Sliders (Bake the rolls early and prep the sliders for dinner)
- Creamy Potato and Veggie Soup (served with warm rolls)
(Thaw the Rhodes dough and then roll them out flat and fill with ham and cheese, then roll up and bake. Any leftovers are great for school lunches too!)

Hope this helps in your quest to make dinners easier!
