Naruto Hidden Leaf Village Ninja Headband Craft DIY

My kids are totally into all the Anime shows that I will let them watch. Right now, the favorite is Naruto, have you watched it? 

If so, you know how important the Hidden Leaf Village ninja headband is. This is a fun and simple DIY craft that will have you rocking the Naruto cosplay world!

This is the hidden leaf village emblem...it looks like a bird head to me...but I have been assured by my teen and tween that it is in fact, a leaf.

 Supplies Needed For Naruto Hidden Leaf Village Headband:

• Blue knit fabric (we used a t-shirt from the dollar store)
• Scrap of leather
• 6 silver brads
• Silver Rub 'n Buff

• Black Fashion Dimensional Paint
• Leather Punch (or hobby knife)

Step 1: Leather!

Begin by cutting your leather to fit across the wearers head. 

Our measurement was 5.5x2.5 inches.  

Cut a rounded edge on the smaller sides.

 

Secondly, punch three holes along the edges. One at the top, one center and one at the bottom corners.

 Then use the Rub n Buff to make the leather silver.

Just rub it on and then wipe it gently with a cloth. I love Rub 'n Buff!

Step 2: Headband Material!

Next cut strips of the blue knit. I sewed pieces together to make them long enough to fit around the humans head. Then sew a tube and turn it right side out.

Now find the center of the blue headband and set the leather piece on top.

Push the brads through the leather.

If you don't have a leather punch, you can cut little X shapes with a hobby knife.

Step 3: Assembly!

Then press the brads through the t-shirt headband and press the brad ends down firmly.

Step 4: Hidden Leaf Symbol!

Here it is...the Hidden Leaf Village logo:

Use a sharpie marker and draw it on the center of the leather.

Next, get the dimensional fabric paint and trace the outline with a bead of puff paint.

This is the perfect emblem for the perfect ninja headband. Pretty sure all the Hokage would be really proud.

I'll show how we did the Naruto costume in a future post...but for now you can make the ninja headband!

I love the way the leather looks. Most Naruto knock-off headbands are metal and don't conform or fit comfortably to the head. 

This is the best way to make the perfect cosplay piece.

Works great for Sasuke too! Perfect cosplay piece, Halloween costume or just because it's totally awesome!
