Sometimes I go all out for birthday parties...but sometimes I am just not feeling it. Something simple like this cake topper is perfect for the most extravagant to the most simplistic of parties. Go ahead and keep this cake topper when the party is over and use it again for the next party.
Supplies Needed for Cake Topper:
White Cardstock
Gold Glitter Cardstock
Skewer
Washi Tape
Happy Birthday file in Cricut Design Space
Begin by placing the white cardstock on the mat. Then cut the outline image. I used the Glitter Cardstock setting with the blade depth set to "more". Make sure the pieces remove easily before removing the mat. If they don't, just click the C start button and it will cut the entire thing again.
Then cut the script out of gold glitter cardstock. Again, check and make sure it is cut all the way through or click the button to cut again. There's nearly nothing worse than a half cut project.
Use the spatula tool to remove the text from the mat.
Now it's time to glue the script to the background. Because the entire script is connected beautifully, the cake topper could be made with just the script cut out instead of the background. You pick!
Use the Tombow MONO liquid glue with the pen tip end and add a bead of glue all over the backside of the glitter vinyl.
Then place the gold glitter script on the background and let the glue dry for a few minutes. It really does not take long!
Add some washi tape to the back of the cake topper, securing a skewer or even a toothpick in place.
Now frost up a cake and stick the topper right inside! Perfect to customize to any party theme. It's so easy using the Cricut! Do you have a party you are getting ready for?
That's it!
