Heart Pop-Up Card DIY with Tombow
Happy Valentine's day! I love the extra love and kindness in the air for the holiday. I don't think Valentine's has to be about lovers and couples, but just love in general. I want my children to know about celebrating love and not stress about having a boyfriend or a girlfriend.
How do you celebrate Valentine's day? Do you give Valentine cards? A fancy dinner? My mom used to do a fun candlelit dinner for my family growing up. I've never been as organized as her. I cut sandwiches in heart shapes or make a heart shaped pizza...but that's about as exciting as it gets around here.
This cute card is easy to make and has the perfect pop up heart for a fun surprise for the recipient. Makes a great last minute Valentine, or just a card to send love any day of the week. Make a cute Valentine Heart pop-up card using patterned paper, cardstock, Tombow Adhesive and Dual Brush Pens.
I like, like you. Did you ever say that growing up? In elementary school if you liked a boy, like liked a boy, it was a pretty big deal. I'm not sure that I ever like, liked anyone. Haha, but this is a fun way to let someone know that you love them.
It's pretty close to the "Do you like me?" with check boxes for yes or no. Haha, good times! Tell me the funniest love note you ever got or you wrote!
My daughter was cleaning up her room the other day and found a bunch of notes and cards from her childhood. She found a cute card with a simple drawing of Mario, Luigi and Toad on it. It was drawn and written by her older brother, my oldest son, when he was about 6. It said "yoo r my favrit sistr". It is so fun to see those memories.
She's the only sister, so the card is still very true. Love notes are the best!
Supplies Needed for Valentine Heart Pop-Up Card:
Folded Cardstock Card
3 Identical Paper Hearts
Step 1 of Heart Pop Up Card
Begin by folding each of the hearts in half with the pattern on the inside.
Step 2 of Pop Up Heart Card
Then apply Tombow Permanent Adhesive to half of one heart. Then stick it to half of another heart.
Repeat the process until you have one full heart in the center and full hearts on each side.
Next it is time to adhere the hearts inside the fold of the card.
Step 3 of Heart Pop Up Card
Apply tape to half of the backside of the triple hearts.
Then stick it inside the card right on the edge of the fold.
Then apply tape on the other blank half and adhere it to the other side of the card.
That's it! The heart pops out right along the fold making the cutest Valentine's day card or love note!
Step 4 of Heart Pop-up Card
Now add some text with a Dual Brush Pen. I am using the Cottage 10-Pack. I love these colors together!
I love the Dual Brush Pens for hand lettering! They are a great size and work great for those thick downstrokes and thin upstrokes.
