Watercolor Wash Valentine Cards with Tombow Dual Brush Pens
I love making handmade cards and these Watercolor wash stamped cards are so much fun! The Tombow Dual Brush Pens add all the colors using a super simple wash technique. These cute cards are great for Valentine's day or any other day of the week.
Typically I will make a bunch of cards at a time, that way I can keep them on hand for when the occasion arises. There's never time to make a card the instant it's needed, so having a stash is the perfect solution.
Supplies Needed for this Watercolor Wash Stamped Card:
Watercolor Paper
Tombow Blending Palette
Rubber Stamp
Tombow Spray Bottle
Colored Cardstock
Painters Tape
Here's a quick video showing the full and detailed process:
Begin by taping your watercolor paper to the table with the painters tape. Work on a surface that cleans off easily.
Next, scribble with the Dual Brush Pens on the blending palette and spritz with the spray bottle. Then spray the watercolor paper and press the colored palette onto the spritzed taped down paper.
Sorry there aren't pictures of this step...watch the video above!
Then let the watercolor wash dry completely. You can use a hair dryer to speed up the drying process...but it has just a little bit of water on it, so it doesn't take too long.
Then ink up the rubber stamp or use a Tombow Drawing Pen to draw your own flower or design. I had this cute stamp on hand, so when I was coloring on my palette I knew where to put the pinks or green scribbles.
Press the rubber stamp on the watercolor paper. I love using clear stamps because I can see exactly where I am placing it. Watercolor paper has some texture to it so press firmly and all over the top of the stamp without rocking it to get a good impression.
Then cut the paper to size, 4X5.25 inches. This will fit perfectly on a half sheet of cardstock folded in half. Also known as A2 size.
Then use the Tombow Adhesive to secure the image to the folded card. These fun cards look great as part of the Valentine decor too, set this on the mantle for a piece of art!
That's it!
It is such a fun technique and perfect for all ages. This is a great craft for a Galentine's party or crafternoon. Let your guests make a few cards to take home while. This craft works for school Valentine parties or even a Girl Scout activity!
