I love taking simple and inexpensive supplies and turning them into something amazing and custom. I also love fandoms like Doctor Who, Star Wars, Harry Potter and Nintendo...so I made these pens just like ones I would like if I were young.
Supplies Needed for EasySculpt Fandom Pens
EasySculpt Epoxy Modeling ClayCornstarch
Cheap Pens that have removable ink
Acrylic Craft Paint
Paint Brushes
Clear Gloss Spray
Disposable Gloves and work surface
When using resin products, it's super important to read through the directions carefully. If not used properly, it won't set right.
Step 1:
Mix one part of each tub together. Mix until completely mixed, no marbling. Use cornstarch to help with the stickiness of the clay. Wear gloves too!Step 2:
Remove the ink from the pens. I love these kind of pens because they are cheap...and the ink can be replaced from the tip, so they are reusable!Clip the stick things off of the lids.
Roll a tube of clay around the pen shaft. Roll it gently like a rolling pin to smooth it out.
Repeat the process for the pen lid. Add buttons, lines or other interesting details to the lid if you are making a lightsaber pen.
Roll them in cornstarch and set them out to dry. Roll them again every 20 minutes or so to keep them from getting flat on one side.
Once they are dry they are smooth and ceramic-like.
Use a hobby knife to cut down any edges around the lid that overhang.
Make the pens match your favorite fandom!
Then get out the craft paint and paint brushes. This is where the pens will come to life!
Take all the time you need to paint the pens the way you like. Will your lightsaber be blue or red? I love how they turned out. The paint job on the wand is supposed to look like a piece of wood. What do you think?
Now you can write with the perfect pen...and replace the ink when needed! These cute pens would make great party favors or even a party craft...you could have them made and let the guests paint their own.
These dueling lightsabers are the coolest in a galaxy far, far away!
