Paint your door red for a pop of color that will add curb appeal and refresh the look. Painting an exterior door may be a little intimidating, but it's actually quite simple. This cute house was getting fixed up to sell, but needed a little pop. The front door was spray painted gray...and the paint was chipping off.  Preparation for this door was important to remove the lacquer finish so the new paint would adhere properly. I began by using a grinder and sanding down the door. I left it hanging in place, but you could do a more thorough job by taking it down. After sanding, apply a good primer to the door.
