Ingredients for Poke Cake:
- Devil's Food Cake (and ingredients to mix cake)
- Caramel Topping
- Heath Toffee Bits
- Chocolate Ganache
- Heavy Whipping Cream
Step 1: Bake the Cake
Begin by mixing up a standard boxed cake mix in a 9x13 pan.
Step 2: Poke Holes
As soon as it is baked and comes out of the oven, use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the top of the cake.
Step 3: Caramel Topping
Then pour the caramel topping all over the top of the cake. It will drip and seep down through the holes poked.
The cake looks shiny and coated in sugar!
Step 4: Add Ganache
Then mix up the chocolate ganache and pour it all over the top of the cake while it is warm.
Step 5: Add Cream
Then whip up the heavy cream to stiff peaks, then pile it on top of the cake. Finally top the cream with the toffee bits.
Then cut it in squares and serve fresh!
The cake is filled with caramel and ganache, it's rich and delicious! Dare I say the word "moist"?
