Halloween Porch Decorations with Oriental Trading!
It's time! The best time of year--it's nearly Halloween! This decor gets nearly 2 months of use, so it's worth it! I love Halloween decorations!
Decorate your porch for the holiday with goodies from Oriental Trading.
Halloween is so sneaky. As soon as the rush of Back-to-School ends, it's time to deck the halls for Halloween! It gets all of September and all of October to celebrate it's spooky nature. Poor Christmas.
I love Halloween...can you tell? My husband and I met on Halloween...and I liked it before, but that definitely sealed the deal. I don't love gore and spooks...I scare so easy! But I love costumes, dressing up, decorations and of course, the candy!
Oriental Trading has everything you need for Halloween! They sent me these goodies in exchange for this post. Affiliate links included. #orientaltrading #otchalloween #otcspookysquad
Here's the fun items I used:
Letterboard (large and small)
Begin by setting the backdrop for the spooky Halloween scene. I used a roll of plastic tablecloth to create a Victorian swag curtain on the front porch. This is key for hiding some surprises on the front porch. Plus, it adds to the spookiness.
From the street it looks decorated simply but perfectly. Cut the bottom of the tablecloths into strips that look ragged.
Add a fun quote to a letterboard, like this one:
Shadows of a thousand years rise again unseen. Voices whisper in the trees, tonight is Halloween!
--Dexter Kozen
The posable life size skeleton is so much fun.
This year, we are upping our scare game with this scarecrow. He's terrifying! Sure, he looks simple and unassuming...holding a bucket of treats and toys. But he holds a dark secret.
Watch this guy in action!
Spooky, right!?
Crows are such ominous birds. Every year around October, flocks of crows settle in my neighborhood. I love them. They have often been thought of as a bad omen, but I love to see them in the 100's!
Use sidewalk chalk to mark safe distances for trick-or-treaters...or just to keep the scarecrow on the porch a surprise for the next guests.
These foam pumpkins are wonderful for decorating. They are fun for crafts and add gorgeous color without rotting on the porch.
Notice the other creepy dummy on the porch? My husband made him with 2x4's and foam pool noodles. He's life size too and super creepy...he scares me all the time.
These little pumpkin pom-poms are perfect for making a little garland.
Just use a large darning needle and some twine and string them through, leaving about 2 inches of twine between each pom-pom.
They are perfect for draping around some dead sticks in the galvanized bucket for the perfect front porch decor.
Isn't this welcome mat just perfect!? I layered it with a buffalo plaid mat for the perfect effect. Get this doormat quick, there is limited stock--but it's so cheap!
I'll clear the goods off the stairs for Halloween night, for safety...but in the meantime a few pumpkins are so cute on the steps.
These darling Halloween squishies are perfect for passing out to trick-or-treaters...they come individually wrapped for extra precaution.
I just love Halloween! So many fun ways to celebrate all month or 2 long!
This is me, how I feel after a long Halloween night. Haha! Happy Halloween planning--get your goodies and celebrate for 2 whole months!
