Star Wars Sugar Skull Shirts with Cricut!
The best combination is Star Wars and Halloween! Make an amazing shirt for any day of the week featuring these fun Sugar Skull designs from Cricut. These shirts look extra amazing because I used black iron-on vinyl on black shirts. They are subtle but stand-out!
Supplies Needed for Star Wars Shirts:
Black T-shirts
(Search for Star Wars images and find the Darth Vader, Trooper, and Boba Fett Sugar Skull images)
Step 1: Cut Images
Find these Star Wars Sugar Skull images in Cricut Design Space. Then place them on the canvas and size them. I sized them up to 11 inches wide for adult male shirts.
Place the iron on vinyl on the mat with the shiny side on the sticky surface. Mirror the image and click the make it button. Let the Cricut machine cut the iron-on.
Step 2: Weed the Iron-on Vinyl
Remove the iron-on vinyl from the mat and weed the excess vinyl.
This is a very detailed image and requires a lot of careful weeding. Using the Cricut BrightPad can be very helpful to show the cut lines.
Use the Cricut hook tool to remove the negative space from the iron-on.
I love the Sugar Skull designs on the Star Wars images!
Repeat the process for all the images.
Step 3: Press the Iron-on
Now use the EasyPress 2 to warm up the shirt. Then place the iron-on on the warm shirt, making sure it is centered.
Then press the EasyPress on the shirt.
The size of the image is large enough that this process needs to be done in 2 phases. Set EasyPress to the recommended settings and press for the recommended time.
Then let the iron-on vinyl cool down completely. After it's nice and cold, peel off the transfer paper. This is called a cold peel and is almost always recommended.
That's it!
Now you can celebrate your love of Star Wars and Halloween with these great shirts!
Which of these shirts do you like best? Darth Vader, Storm Trooper or Boba Fett?
The Black Foil Iron-on has a leather-like finish that I love! It's super chic!
I used black glitter iron-on for the trooper and it looks great!
I love using my Cricut for handmade gifts. Two of these fun shirts were actually sent to a close new married couple as a wedding gift! Guess which one my husband kept?
