Need a handmade gift for a video gamer? Get old school with these fun crafts made using the Cricut. Make an 8-bit 1-up Mushroom mug using Infusible Ink Transfers and an old school controller insert card.
Whether a hardcore video gamer or not, these will make great gifts for anyone that grew up with a Nintendo! Great handmade gifts for dad!
Supplies Needed for Cricut Infusible Ink Mug:
Step 1: Design
Begin by uploading these files into Cricut Design Space.
Step 2: Weed
Now weed the Infusible ink transfers. Don't use the hook tool, just peel like a sticker and touch the ink as little as possible, any imperfections will show up in the finish.
Now, carefully peel off the green infusible ink and place it in the cap of the mushroom outline with the ink side up.
Step 3: Tape
Then place the Infusible Ink Transfer on the mug. Center as well as you can. Then tape down the edges with some Heat Resistance Tape.
Then wrap the mug with the silicone wrap.
Step 4: Bake
Then bake in the oven on a baking sheet at 400* for 15 minutes. Then remove and let it cool down. Then remove the wrap and transfer to reveal your vivid 1-up mushroom mug!

Supplies Needed for Video Gamer Card:
Cardstock
Insert Paper (metallic poster board from Dollar Tree)
Cricut Machine
Search Cricut Design Space for "insert card" and you'll find blank cards with these little corner notches. Then search for video game controller and upload this one. This image is perfect because it's not a complete image, it's more of a stencil.
Then place them together and slice the images or attach them. Then score and cut. Remove paper from the mat and then insert some metallic poster board into the notches.
Ta da!
Fill the mugs with treats or a gift card, add some hot chocolate or coffee mix and write something heartfelt on the card! The perfect gamer gift handmade with love!
