Make a wood slice ornament using Hands On Fun Markers from Oriental Trading. These markers are awesome for writing on wood, they don't bleed at all!

Then use a drill and bit to pilot a hole through the wood slices.
Then tie some buffalo check or plaid ribbon through the hole and tie a big bow. I love wired edge ribbon for holding its shape and making the best bows.
