By now I am sure you have seen hot chocolate bombs...but get ready for hot chocolate frogs! These cute frogs are ready to make a steamy cup of hot chocolate. Perfect for a Harry Potter fan or just a chocolate fan in general!
These cute frogs are small, so they are good for a 6-8 ounce cup of hot chocolate, if you like a bigger cup, add a couple frogs.
Make these delicious frogs for a handmade Christmas gift or for a fun and festive treat for a Harry Potter Marathon! Perfect for ringing in the new year.
Filled with hot chocolate powder, these guys are ready to turn into the perfect cup of hot choccy for you!
Supplies Needed for Hot Chocolate Frog Bombs:
Chocolate for Melting
Hot Chocolate Powder
Optional other mixins:
Crushed Candy Canes
Mini Marshmallows
Mini Chocolate Chips
Cinnamon Red Hots
Step 1: Melt Chocolate
Begin by melting the chocolate. I used a dipping chocolate that is sold in bars. Melt slowly so it does not burn.
Step 2: Fill the Mold
Then fill the frog cavities with chocolate. Let the chocolate set for about 5 minutes. Then turn the mold upside down on a piece of parchment paper and let the chocolate drain out, leaving the perfect layer remaining.
Then let the chocolate harden completely.
Step 3: Fill Frogs
Now fill the frogs with some hot chocolate powder.
Add candy or other mixins. These frogs are not as large as the hot chocolate bombs going around, so they don't hold as much goodies. Just fill up the frog and try to keep the powder away from the edges.
Then cover the frogs with a layer of melted chocolate.
Let the chocolate set completely and remove the frogs from the mold.
Plop one or two into a mug and add hot water or hot milk. Stir and enjoy!
They've only got one good jump in them!
Perfect for a Harry Potter movie marathon for the New Year!
