Plaid Apple Barrel paint is my favorite! It's very budget friendly and comes in a ton of vibrant colors. I am using this selection from Amazon that has a bit of every color.
I love this assortment of colors because it has all the primary colors, plus, it has a light tone and a darker tone of each shade. This makes painting and blending a snap using this pack of 18 fabulous 2 oz. Apple Barrel paints.
Supplies Needed for Making Stickers with Plaid Apple Barrel Paint:
Step 1: Open Paint
Begin by opening up all the Apple Barrel Paints you want to use...or pour a little bit into a palette.
Step 2: Paint Stickers
Paint any design desired on the shiny surface of the sticker paper. The shiny surface makes the paint go on in a very distressed way. This is an awesome effect!
If you want a more opaque finish, let the paint dry and paint over it again.
When painting flowers, make big "C" shaped blobs of paint in a circle. These form the petals. Then add some lighter and darker paints. Paint leaves and add some paint, in this case, yellow to the center of the flowers.
Continue painting flowers, calligraphy, rainbows or anything your heart desires until the sticker paper is full. Leave about a 1/4" between image designs.
After filling an entire sticker page, set it aside to dry and fill another one! Make multi-colored rainbows with layered arches and dots.
These rainbows are so cute and have such a playful vibe to them. Use the stick end of the paintbrush for round dots if desired. Then let the paint dry completely.
Step 3: Mod Podge
After the paint has dried completely, coat the images with a thin layer of matte finish Mod Podge. This will keep them smudge proof and light splash resistant. Let the Mod Podge dry completely.
Step 4: Cut out the Stickers
Now use some scissors and cut out all the stickers. Leave about a 1/8" border of white sticker paper around the painted images.
That's it!
Now these darling stickers are ready to find a home on water bottles, notebooks, journals, folders, binders, or even passed out as back to school gifts!
