What are the Best Blanks for Cricut Crafts?
Having a Cricut Machine is awesome! There are so many things you can make, create and customize...but you kind of need other things to do that. Blanks. Things like t-shirts, mugs, totes, acrylic, paper, etc...everyone wants the best blanks, usually in bulk, for their crafting.
I work with Cricut, so naturally I love them. I loved them before I started working with them and sought them out to work together. Cricut is sponsoring this post, all opinions and ideas are mine. Happy holidays!
Of course it's important to get the best blanks...because getting the Cricut Machine needed is a big investment. Let's talk about the variety of tools needed for different applications first.
**Also, if you are wanting to start a Cricut Business to help your machine pay for itself, check out this post.
**And check out this one on 5 ways to Make Money with the Cricut Explore Air 2.
Here's all the tools you'll want/need:
Cricut Cutting Machine.
You need a great cutting machine. I highly recommend the Cricut Maker 3 or Cricut Maker. Cricut is designed with the beginner in mind, so the learning curve is pretty fast.
If you get the Cricut Explore Air, which is still a fantastic machine, you'll eventually want to explore new tools and mediums that only the Cricut Maker can cut. It's worth waiting a little longer to have the money for the Cricut Maker, in my opinion.
All Cricut machines come with the standard cutting blade, so you are ready to cut all sorts of mediums right out of the box. Each machine is wonderful and has its perks...pick the one that is in your price range and just get creating.
Remember, most materials work if they are 1mm thick or thinner.
Adaptive Tools.
Now if you have the Cricut Maker machine, you'll want to invest in all the adaptive tools. Buy these as you get more comfortable with the machine and new projects interest you!
Here's the variety of adaptive tools compatible with the Cricut Maker family:
Cricut Fine Point Replacement Blade
Cricut Knife Blade
Cricut Deep Point Blade
Cricut Foil Transfer Kit
Cricut Engraving Tool
Cricut Rotary Blade
Cricut Debossing Tip
Cricut Wavy Blade
Cricut Bonded Fabric Blade
Cricut Perforation Blade
Cricut Double Scoring Wheel

Cricut EasyPress and Mat.
The Cricut EasyPress 2 is worth its weight in gold. It's a heat press, but takes up very little space in the craft room or on the book shelf. The Cricut EasyPress Mat is the other half of the heat press, so both are needed for the best heat transfer.
Now, size. The EasyPress 2 comes in 4 different sizes: Large (12x10), Medium (9x9), Small (6x7) (which it looks like they aren't currently selling) and Mini. So which one should you get?
If you are going to start doing anything using Infusible Ink, get the biggest one. Infusible Ink Transfers need to be pressed in one go, not in several patches like you can do with iron-on vinyl.
So the largest image you can do with Infusible Ink is the size of your EasyPress...so I'd go with the biggest one. Cricut EasyPress 2 12x10 Raspberry
You can still press small things like onesies, socks, etc with it, so it's a win.

Cricut Mug Press.
If you are super excited about doing mugs and tumblers (like me), this is a must have in your arsenal! The mug press makes sublimation or Infusible Ink transfers take just about 5 minutes and work beautifully without off-gassing into your kitchen oven.
