Rae Dunn Inspired Salt and Pepper Shakers DIY

Make the perfect "Not Salt" and "Not Pepper" shakers for April Fool's day! This fun Rae Dun inspired craft is done easily with the Cricut and adhesive vinyl.

In just a few minutes you'll have the most confusing spice containers for a April Fool's day dinner, white elephant gift or just to be quirky!

Which one is salt and which one is pepper? It's silly, but I keep getting these mixed up myself!

I'm not really. I like salt on my popcorn but that's about it. My family loves salt. My husband especially. He salts everything, including oranges and watermelon! When he goes to the doctor, they take his blood pressure and then tell him he needs to ADD more salt to his diet! I'm always so surprised!

So I let him salt anything he wants.

Supplies Needed:

Step 1: Font

Begin by getting a Rae Dunn knock off font, I've got 5 GREAT FREE ones at the end of this post.

Then use them in Cricut Design Space and write out the titles for the shakers.

Step 2: Cut

Then place the adhesive vinyl on the mat and have the Cricut cut out the letters.

Step 3: Weed

Now remove the vinyl and cut each label apart. It's easier to weed in smaller pieces. These skinny font letters can be a little tricky, so take your time removing the excess vinyl.

Step 4: Transfer

Now place transfer tape on top of the vinyl and remove the backing. Then place the vinyl on the salt and pepper shaker and smooth it down with the scraping tool or a credit card.

Then peel back the transfer tape and roll it over the top of itself to remove it easily without lifting up the letters.

These darling and confusing salt and pepper shakers are ready for their debut! Kids love to figure out what's inside each container, as it only tells you what it isn't.
