Personalized Wood Tags Made with xTool Laser Cutter!
These little personalize wood tags made with xTool laser cutter are perfect for Easter baskets, handmade gifts, luggage, backpacks and more!
I love my new laser cutting machine!
It's the perfect tool for a crafter and can cut all kinds of materials.
So far, I'm in love with cutting and engraving wood.
Supplies Needed for Personalized Wood Tags:
- xTool M1 Everything Bundle
- 3mm Basswood (wood tags included with materials bundle)
- xTool Creative Space Software
- Tombow ABT PRO Markers
Step 1: Design Set up!
Begin by opening up the XCS Software.
Place the wooden tags on the triangular prisms and the software will take a snapshot of it to work on.
Then select the engrave option on the right side bar.
Then select the text tool and add your own personalized text to each tag.
Step 2: Engrave!
After arranging the words on the tags, click the process button.
Then click the start button on the machine and watch it work it's magic.
If the engraving is not dark enough for you, leave everything in place and click the process button again.
Step 3: Color!
I decided to add some color to these little tags.
I love the wood grain so much, and these Tombow ABT PRO Alcohol Based markers soak into the wood like a stain, leaving the grain lines visible.
Pick lighter colors so the engraving still shows!
The wood grain makes coloring details pretty tricky, but super easy to color along with the grains of the wood.
Use long strokes that match the direction of the wood grain for the best results.
The ink does tend to bleed into the wood a little.
The font you pick makes a difference on the readability of the engraved tag.
I do not love the fancy font I used for "Danny", it barely shows up--plus I used dark colors to color it.
I love the big bold fonts with short words.
You could opt to cut out the words too.
That's it!
Hope you like this simple craft using the text/font option on the xTool M1 Laser Cutting Machine.
There are so many options using the xTool and I can't wait to show you more!
