Doodlecraft Watercolor Patterned Vinyl and Iron on! I'm super excited about today! It's release day for my Patterned Vinyl Collaboration with Expressions Vinyl. Clear back in March I signed up to collaborate with Expressions Vinyl on 10 designs to be turned into vinyl and iron on vinyl. I picked vivid watercolors as my medium and I love how all 10 patterns work together. It's like my runway collection.

Supplies Needed for HTV Shirt!

Supplies Needed for HTV Shirt! Heat Transfer Vinyl in a Doodlecraft Design Shirt (I love District Made shirts) Heat Press (I'm using my HTVRont Auto Heat Press) Cricut Maker 3 (or other machine)

Step 1: Trim

Use scissors or a paper trimmer to cut the Doodlecraft label off the edge of the HTV.

Step 2: Stick to Cutting Mat

Then place the HTV on the cutting mat with the flower side down.

Make sure to align the vinyl so the top is oriented to the top of the mat.

Step 3: Cut HTV

I selected a heart shape in Cricut Design Space and had the Cricut Maker 3 cut it out.

Because the shape is so simple, it took no time at all for the sharp blade to make the perfect heart cut out.

Step 4: Weed

Remove the HTV from the mat and weed the extra vinyl away from the heart shape.

Step 5: Heat Press

Set the heat press to 340* F and 40 seconds.

Then set the shirt on the base and press briefly to remove wrinkles, moisture and warm it up.

After warming up the shirt, place the HTV on the shirt with the colorful side up.

Center it on the shirt.

I always place my design just an inch or two below the collar line because it gives it a lifted look rather than sagging down the chest.

After pressing the heart on the shirt, I cut out a little flower from the scraps of weeded vinyl and put it on the sleeve.

I love a shirt with a great sleeve detail!

A custom shirt is so easy to put together and so fast--they make great last minute gifts that are unique!

Truth be told, this is my favorite of the patterns I designed.

I just love the flowers.

I wasn't confident with my painting skills to do one seamless pattern...so you know what I did?

I painted roses on one paper.
I painted leaves on another.
I painted little berries, starbursts and everything else totally individually.

Then I scanned them all into my computer, removed the backgrounds and played around with the pattern in photoshop.

I love how it turned out.

I want to buy all the floral vinyls before they aren't available!
