How to Make Waterproof Stickers with HTVRont!

I love making my very own stickers.

They are so fun to customize mailers, give as gifts, add to handmade cards, slap on water bottles and more!

Making waterproof stickers with HTVRont sticker paper is easy and so much fun!

I think my love of stickers comes from when I was little and just wished I could buy all the Lisa Frank stickers around!

I designed these flower images myself. I sat down with watercolors and watercolor paper and painted several bouquet sprays of flowers.

These 3 bouquet designs were my favorite. I love the watercolor bleeds and the vivid colors, and I love how these bright bouquets look with a black border!

I scanned them into my computer, removed the negative space and added a 30 pixel border that I made in black and white.

This gives the Cricut some space during cut out for the perfect bordered sticker...and not all the trouble of cutting out every little fragile leaf.

HTVRont 's sticker paper is a great price, it's cheap and easy to print stickers that you design and start selling them too.

HTVRont Waterproof Matte Printable Sticker Paper (get on Amazon or from HTVRont)
OR HTVRont Kraft Sticker Paper
Printer (I use a deskjet color printer)
Cricut Machine
Cricut Design Space

NOTE: Calibrating your machine will make the sticker cuts much nicer, so take the time to calibrate your machine first.

Step 1: Design Space

Begin by designing your stickers. (Cricut Design Space has images all ready to go too!)

If you buy my Watercolor Flower Bouquets file, simply upload each image individually to Cricut Design Space. (There are 6 files included...3 with black borders, 3 with white borders)

Select it as a complex file and then save it as a "Print and Cut" image.

Then import the images onto your canvas.

I sized them down so that 9 stickers would fit on one page, 3 of each design.

Then click "make it" in Cricut Design Space.

It will prompt you to put the sticker paper in your printer and print it out from Cricut Design Space.

After the printing, you can decide if you want to add the lamination cover to the sticker page.

There are not 100 laminator sheets included, and they don't necessarily need them.

The print works great, doesn't smear and is ready to cut after printing.

If you decide to cover with the lamination sheet, this is the time.

Peel the backing off and reveal the top edge of the lamination sheet.

Step 3: Cutting

Now place the laminated sticker sheet on the Cricut cutting mat.

The Cricut machine will register the black lines and then cut the stickers out perfectly.

Insert the mat into the Cricut.

Select "Printable Sticker Paper" as the material.

This Print and Cut method works with the Cricut Maker, Cricut Maker 3, Cricut Explore Air 2 and the Cricut Joy Xtra.

The Cricut will register the calibration marks and then begin cutting the stickers, but not the backing!

After cutting, check and see if the stickers will lift off before removing the mat.

If they need to be cut again, click the go button.

Otherwise, peel the mat off of the sticker sheet and they are ready to gift, give, use or sell!

Of course...

It doesn't always work out perfectly!

I had a couple of tries that cut the backing as well as the top.

I really doesn't take much to cut through that sticker paper.

These cut-out stickers still work great, just aren't on one sheet to sell or gift.

And these cute stickers look awesome on Kraft Sticker Paper too!

I love the gently muted tone.

When cutting the Kraft paper, set the Cricut machine to cut "rice paper" and it works perfectly!

Now the stickers are ready to love.

I used a paper cutter to trim the registration marks off.

They are the perfect size stickers.

I filled my water bottle with some of the cutout stickers and it worked great--they are water resistant for sure, but I would not run them through the dishwasher, take them swimming or submerge them in water. But they are definitely splash proof.
