How to Make Lightwish UV Colorful Resin Pendants
Lightwish has completely changed the resin game with their new UV Colored Resin!
This amazing resin totally hardens in mere minutes under a UV light and it comes colored.
No fussy mixing or stirring or waiting.
It's seriously a game changer!
Lightwish UV Colorful Resin (6 pack)
Lightwish UV Colorful Resin (8 pack)
I received the 8 pack Lightwish UV Colorful Resin in exchange for this post.
I'm super impressed.
After years of working with resin, this was the fastest and most convenient!
I hope they make more resin colors too!
I've done 100's of resin projects (see this post here) and I have used so many kinds of resin.
It's involved. It means careful measuring, cautious mixing, removing bubbles and patiently waiting for it to set up completely.
I was thrilled to try some UV resin for the first time, and the color just makes it one step cooler.
Perfect for thin layer application, about 1/4" or so.
These colorful pendants were easy to make and took just a few minutes each using Lightwish UV Colorful Resin.
Supplies Needed for UV Colorful Resin Pendants:
- Lightwish UV Colorful Resin (8 pack)
- Metal Jewelry Open Bezels
- Resin Tape
- Chain
- UV Light (I'm using my Gel Nails light)
Step 1: Tape Down Bezels
Begin by rolling out some of the resin tape.
Then stick the open bezel to the tape firmly.
Cut the pieces apart for ease of work.
Press the metal edges down on the tape to prevent leaking out of the bezel.
Step 2: UV Colorful Resin
Open the UV Resin bottles.
Remove the seal.
Screw the precision tip on each bottle so it is ready for use.
Step 3: Squeeze out Resin
Gently squeeze the bottle of colorful resin into the open bezel.
The resin is thick, like honey, so it fills the space really well and doesn't just run all over the place.
You can mix colors in the bezel, creating a marbled effect.
The white and gray resin is pretty opaque.
The colors are a little more translucent, giving them a fun glassy look.
Add multiple colors in a fun pattern!
I tried lines of different colors, a bullseye of colors and sections of colors--I especially love the marbled ones.
You can use a toothpick to remove any little bubbles that form.
Once the bezel is filled with colorful resin, use a toothpick or other sharp instrument to create marbling lines in the resin.
Step 4: UV Light
After filling the bezel with resin, place it under the UV lamp for about a minute and a half or so.
My gel light does a count up to 90 seconds and that seemed like enough time for the top side.
After the UV light session, gently remove the resin tape from the backside of the bezel.
Then add a little more resin to the backside, in the same color pattern as done previously and set the resin under the light one more time.
This will make both sides of the bezel look rounded and full, so it doesn't matter which way it hangs.
Step 5: Add Chains
Then finish off the pendants by adding a chain to them!
They look fabulous in bright colors and ready to wear, gift or sell.
That's it!
I love UV Colored Resin from Lightwish!
I hope they make a teal, aqua and sand colored resin so I can make beach wave themed pendants and coasters.
I love the ease of the pre-mixed colors and I think you will too!
