How to Make Merry and Married Acrylic Ornaments!
It's the 12 days of giveaways and I've got another fun FREE SVG for these darling acrylic ornaments!
Merry and Married!
Make the perfect acrylic ornament with vinyl for anyone that got married this year!
FREE SVG FILE AT THE END OF THIS POST!!!
Do you know someone that was married this year?
This would be the perfect gift for the newlyweds on their first Christmas tree.
The first thing to discuss are these beautiful black acrylic ornaments.
My laser cutter can cut black acrylic, but I found a supplier of acrylic blanks that made this craft so much easier.
Soto Laser Cutting is the best source for bulk acrylic shapes, cut outs, keychains and more.
They'll cut any color of acrylic, any size and they have tons of popular shapes.
They also do custom engraving and printing, so you can get all the custom work done without the work.
I'm using Soto Bubble Ornament in black, 4 inch width. (They do glitter ornaments too!)
These are available in bulk orders of 25+ so they are perfect for company, church, school, neighbor and friend gifts.
Soto Laser Cutting sent me these ornaments in exchange for this post, affiliate links included.
For these simple Merry and Married acrylic ornaments, you'll also need a Cricut or other cutting machine and vinyl.
It's really a simple but thoughtful DIY!
Supplies Needed for Merry and Married Acrylic Ornaments:
- Soto Bubble Ornament
- Gold Faux Leather Adhesive Vinyl
- Cricut Maker 3
- Transfer Tape
- Merry and Married SVG FREEBIE (at the end of this post)
- Ribbon
Step 1 for Acrylic Ornament: Vinyl Cutting
I'm using gold faux leather adhesive vinyl and I love how it looks, but any metallic adhesive vinyl will work beautifully for this project.
Import the Merry and Married SVG freebie file (at the end of this post) into Cricut Design Space, and scale it to fit the acrylic ornament blank.
Set the vinyl on the cutting mat and set the material to adhesive vinyl.
Then have your Cricut cut out the hand lettering.
Step 2 for Acrylic Ornament: Weed Vinyl
After the Cricut has done its magic and cut the vinyl, weed the excess vinyl from the design.
All those little spaces in the loops of the letters need to be removed carefully.
Then place some transfer tape over the top of the vinyl.
Step 3 for Acrylic Ornament: Place Vinyl
First, peel the protective paper layer from the acrylic ornament.
Remove the backing from the vinyl.
Then place the adhesive vinyl and transfer tape right on top of the clean acrylic ornament.
Peel off the transfer tape by rolling it back over itself.
Step 4 for Acrylic Ornament: Ribbon
Now finish off these super chic ornaments with a big ribbon.
I'm using some Offray ribbon I've had for a few years now.
I love making a big knot on top with plenty of room to just slide onto a Christmas tree branch.
A Merry and Married acrylic ornament would also make a great gift tag, if you are heading to a wedding in the next few weeks, this would be the icing on the cake!
I love the classic black and gold, but you could make them in any color--even colors to match the theme of the wedding.
Again, check out Soto Laser Cutting for all your acrylic ornament, blanks or custom engraved gifts!
I'm excited to show you more craft ideas featuring their blanks!
These pictures barely do the acrylic ornaments justice because they are so reflective they are hard to photograph.
The ornaments are shiny, glossy black and the lettering is textured gold and it looks like faux leather.
I love this combo!
I realize this is a very limited reach SVG but I just think it has the best sentiments.
I love the closeness that a first Christmas together has.
If this isn't for you, I hope to see you back tomorrow for another fun freebie giveaway!
That's it!
