Fallout 76 Recipe: Gulper Stuffed Foot
The Gulper Stuffed Foot is one of my favorite Nuka World on Tour new recipes!
It's the biggest sushi roll you've ever seen--using the hand of a gulper as the wrap.
It was fun to recreate and delicious to eat.
What are Gulpers in Fallout 76?
Gulpers are mutated creatures found in the Fallout series, particularly in Fallout 76. These creatures were originally amphibians native to the forests of West Virginia, but they underwent significant mutations due to radiation exposure following the Great War.
Gulpers are large, reptilian creatures resembling a mix between a salamander and a snake. They have elongated bodies covered in thick scales, with a distinctive frill around their necks and a set of sharp teeth. Their coloration varies but often includes shades of green and brown, allowing them to blend in with their forest habitat.
These creatures are highly aggressive and territorial, often attacking anything that enters their territory. They have powerful jaws capable of inflicting serious damage, and they can move quickly both on land and in water. Gulpers are known for their ability to spit toxic saliva at their prey, further increasing the danger they pose to wasteland travelers.
Encounters with gulpers in Fallout 76 can be challenging, especially for lower-level players, as they are formidable adversaries that require careful tactics and powerful weaponry to defeat. However, they also provide valuable resources when slain, including meat and other materials that can be used for crafting and survival in the post-apocalyptic wasteland.
I always snag 3 gulpers over at Gulper Lagoon and 2 gulpers at Dyer Chemical!
Here's the Fallout 76 in-game picture of the Stuffed Gulper Foot.
It's ginormous!
There is one at the kebab stand as you exit Nuka World on Tour heading to Lewisburg Train Station.
I love to snag all the foods on sticks and kebabs there.
The stuffed gulper foot is right in the center and ready to consume!
If you get a shot of the gulper stuffed foot from the top, you'll see a hefty amount of rice...with a little salmon, avocado and cucumber.
The in-game recipe for the Gulper Stuffed Foot is:
- 3 Wood
- 2 Gulper innards
- 3 Cotton candy bites
- 3 Sugar
So, I did my own version of the Gulper Stuffed Foot so it would look like the game food and not necessarily follow the recipe from the game.
I made a pretty basic--but gigantic--California sushi roll...with a couple added elements for the foot effect.
Ingredients Needed for Gulper Stuffed Foot: (California Sushi Roll)
- Sushi Rice (2 Cups rinsed and cooked rice with 1 cup rice vinegar and 1/2 cup sugar added after cooking--then cooled to room temperature)
- Nori Seaweed Wraps
- Cucumber
- Cream Cheese
- Crab Sticks
- Narutomaki (steamed fish cake)
- Spray Bottle of Water
The Narutomaki is not really part of the picture of the gulper stuffed foot...but in order to not have to put SO much rice into the roll, this was a visually pleasing, tasty and economical solution!
This was easy to find in the freezer section at the local Asian market.
Step 1: Sushi Rice
Make the sushi rice ahead of needing it.
I typically make this the night before.
Rinse 2 cups of sushi rice (or Calrose) until the water runs clear.
Add it to 2 1/2 cups of water.
Bring to a boil and cover the sauce pan.
Reduce heat to a simmer.
Let it cook for 20 minutes.
When the rice is done cooking add: 1 cup of rice vinegar, 1/2 cup of sugar and 1 teaspoon of salt.
Mix and cover.
Put in the fridge until cooled.
Step 2: Seaweed
Lay a piece of seaweed out on the table or cutting board.
I don't use a bamboo mat, but you can if you have one.
Scoop out about 2 cups of cooked Sushi rice and spread it on the seaweed.
Using slightly damp hands helps it not stick quite so much.
Step 3: Toppings
Near the edge of the seaweed, add the center fillings.
- Strip of Cucumber
- 3 Crab Sticks
- Strip of Cream Cheese
- and the entire Narutomaki
Step 4: Rolling the Foot
Because the diameter of the sushi roll is so large, you will need 2 pieces of seaweed.
The seaweed is really easy to work with if you mist it with a little water, so having a spray bottle on hand is really nice.
You can see in the picture here that the roll is much too big for just one wrap.
So overlap another piece of seaweed, spritz it with a little water and add a little more rice on the edge to help them stick together.
Then wrap the sushi roll again holding it all tight together as you roll.
Step 5: Lumpy Ankles
Now the gulper foot looks pretty good, but needs some lumpy ankles around it.
Lay 2 more sushi seaweed wraps down together overlapped about 1 inch, spritzed with a little water to help them stick together.
Then lay 3 crab sticks on the seaweed spaced about an inch apart.
Spritz the sea weed with a little more water and place the sushi roll right on the crab sticks.
Work carefully to wrap them all up together...sticking the moist seaweed to itself as you roll.
There's not big, knobby toes, but this is still pretty awesome and impressive!
I must admit, I'm pretty proud of this one!
It looks like the in-game food and tasted great--glad I didn't make it of cotton candy and sugar!
Cut apart, this gulper stuffed foot was tons of food--and split up between me and my 2 kids that like sushi.
My husband and other son had a sandwich instead.
The Gulper Stuffed Foot can be purchased from Betty Hill over by the Tunnel of Love.
It's got a 9% chance of being awarded as a prize from completing a Nuka World on Tour event.
And the fixed spawn at the food stalls on the way to the train station.
.
Finding the plan is a little trickier...there's a potential drop on completion of the Tunnel of Love event...and that's it!
A stuffed gulper foot goes great with some Nuka Cola too!
Stick a gulper stuffed foot in your lunchbox or mole miner pail for your lunch later--after a hard days work of Load Baring or Seismic Activity!
The Gulper Stuffed Foot awards you 2 additional strength for 60 in game minutes.
That's it!
What do you think of my attempt to recreate the Gulper Stuffed Foot?
