Let me tell you all about the Perfectly Preserved Pie and then I'll show you how easy it is to make this for a real life experience too!

In the Fallout video game series, the "Perfectly Preserved Pie" is a rare and sought-after item found in vending machines called Port-A-Diners. 

Players can attempt to activate the machine, and with an incredibly low chance, receive the perfectly preserved pie. 

Its rarity and the humorous frustration associated with trying to obtain it have made it a notable and memorable element in the Fallout community. 

Despite the post-apocalyptic setting, the Perfectly Preserved Pie stands out as a quirky and entertaining anomaly, adding a touch of humor to the otherwise grim world of Fallout.

What is it about the perfectly preserved pie that is so appealing?

For me, it's the claw machine!

For a kid that grew up way too poor to every have a chance at putting quarters into a machine and possibly winning a prize, the Port-A-Diner is my dream!

I've won myself a perfectly preserved pie a lot of times.

I take a picture every time too!

Sometimes I get so excited that I won the pie that I forget to take it out of the machine to consume it!

I have some pies stored around my camp as decor too.

Is it Possible to Get the Perfectly Preserved Pie from the Port-A-Diner?

There's 43 unique Port-A-Diner Machines across the Fallout 76 wasteland map.

There's about a 99.5% chance of getting the pie with 109-140 tries.

The pie can be eaten, stored (does not spoil) or used as decor.

The pie boasts 20 additional hit points when consumed.

I've wanted to recreate this pie since I played Fallout 4 back in 2021.

The thrill of the claw machine activating...hoping the claw will immediately shift to the side to indicate that the pie will, in fact, be retrieved!

It's exciting every time!

I love winning the perfectly preserved pie--even though I have no idea what to do with it...and it feels weird to just eat it.

So I have like 24 pies in my stash box and a few around my camp.

I also have eaten several pies.

Ingredients Needed for Perfectly Preserved Pie:

• New York Style Cheesecake
• Strawberry Ice Cream Topping
• Heavy Cream
• Powdered Sugar
• Vanilla

Step 1: Whip the Heavy Cream

To whip heavy cream for pie topping, begin with chilled cream.

Pour one cup of heavy cream into a large mixing bowl with 2 Tablespoons of powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla.

Beat on Medium/High until soft peaks form. (4-5 minutes or so)

Then continue mixing on medium until stiff peaks form, do not over mix or it will curdle and turn into butter.

Spoon into a piping bag or zipper plastic bag and refrigerate.

Step 2: Plate the Cheesecake

In a homemade world, you can totally make the cheesecake yourself.

I just pushed the "easy" button and bought one.

Here's a great recipe for a Vanilla Bean Cheesecake made in the Instant Pot, and you can leave out all the vanilla beans for a smooth cream cake.

If you are buying it in, just place the cheesecake on the paper plate, the melamine plate or the stacked paper plates for the most authentic experience.

Step 3: Strawberry Topping

Spoon a generous portion of strawberry ice cream topping over a slice of New York-style cheesecake. 

Allow the rich strawberry flavor to cascade over the creamy cheesecake surface, creating a luscious and fruity base.

I tried to follow the puddling of the video game pie...but just topping it works great!

Step 4: Whipped Topping

Carefully dollop the freshly whipped cream onto the strawberry-topped cheesecake from the piping bag.

The fresh whipped topping is the literal "icing on the cake" as it gives it the best flavor.

A pre-mixed topping could be used as well.

The layers of flavors and textures harmonize, offering a delightful and whimsical treat for your taste buds.

You can make it as handmade as desired...or buy all three ingredients and just assemble them for the party, dessert or just because.
