Make a Laser Cut Earring Holder DIY with xTool S1
Learn how to make a gorgeous DIY earring display perfect for keeping track of earrings or for displaying earrings for sale at an event!
If you have a big earring collection there are so many wonderful earring stand options--even combining with jewelry organizer solutions too!
Laser cutting projects are my favorite right now. It's so easy to make something with my laser cutter/engraver and have a finished product in minutes without a trip to the craft store.
Get those earrings out of a box and display them as part of the vanity decor and functional visual organization.
I love being able to see what I have...after all, out of sight, out of mind.
How to Get Laser Cut Files:
Creative Fabrica is a great resource for template files.
I just purchased a one-year plan, and it comes with unlimited downloads. Granted, there are a bunch of AI generated images that do not thrill me...but the reason I decided to pay the $49 for the year was for the laser cut files.
No adobe illustrator or other graphic design programs needed, I can just download any laser-cut file and load it right into xTool Creative Space and it's ready to go.
You can get 10 free download files as a free trial. I got 10 free DXF files and then decided it was worth it to get a year subscription...which I immediately bought and canceled so I can redecide next year. (files come in all file formats)
You can subscribe and pay per month, or pay for the year. Note: if you do pay for a year, they will give you an option of paying for another year at a lower price immediately. You can purchase images by the single image, but it's not as cost effective.
Okay, these are affiliate links for Creative Fabrica, I get store credit or a small percentage if you make a purchase.
If you are running a Laser Cutting Business, I highly recommend like Creative Fabrica a site to get tried and true, tested, laser cut files that fit together perfectly.
Let me show you a few favorite files:

There are dozens of files for earring display stands.
I scoured them all, downloaded a bunch...and picked this one to make, there are 8 designs, full grids or half grids/half dots, with customizable text option:
Supplies Needed for Earring Holder Stand:
- 8 style Earring Stand (I picked the square design)
- 3mm Basswood
- xTool S1 (or other laser cutting machine)
- Paint and Paintbrush (optional)
Step 1: xTool Creative Space
Begin by uploading the design into xTool creative space.
Alter any power/speed/pass settings as necessary for your material, and place the basswood on the honeycomb and secure it in place with the magnetic clamps. Then select the useable space for the machine.
Line up the image in the useable space and add any customized text if desired.
Step 2: Laser Cutting Machine
Send the file to the machine and click start.
Watch the magic as the laser beam cuts the wood with ease.
Stay by the machine as it cuts to make sure that it goes smoothly and does not start a fire or have an error...it's just good practice to be with the machine as it works.
Step 3: Remove Pieces and Assemble
After the machine is done cutting...this took about 30 minutes I think, remove all the pieces.
The little squares go right through the honeycomb and you can sweep them out of the xTool base with a small broom and dust pan.
Then take all the unfinished wood shapes to a flat workstation.
No step-by-step guide needed for assembly.
It's so easy. It just clicks into the base easily and stands beautifully.
If you want to paint the unfinished wood cutouts, you can do it before or after it's assembled.
You can glue all the pieces in place as well...or glue the 3 pieces of the base together and keep the top grid loose so it's easy to add or remove earrings.
Great display for a handmade goods booth too!
These earring holders are great for a lot of small stud earrings and a good amount of dangle earrings.
Easy to hook on and see them.
I love the simplicity and the minimal space they occupy.
I'm super happy about these...but if these aren't quite your style, Creative Fabrica has tons more laser cut files as well as png jpg and svg file--sure to suit your tastes!
Fire up that laser cutter right now and make all the holiday gifts you can imagine, while the weather is nice and you have a little extra time.
Trust me, December you will thank you!

This specific item ends up soaking up the moisture in the planter and does not last forever.
Wood Burned Engraved Florals:
First, let's talk about the FolkArt Watercolor Gelz.
They are awesome acrylic paints in more of a gel consistency than other acrylic craft paint--works almost like a wood stain--I love being able to see the wood grains under the colors.
You don't have to water them down, but I like to add water and paint just like watercolors.
They come in a huge array of beautiful and vivid colors--I'm using 14 different colors in the one engraved wood plaque.
They are perfect to use in connection with the xTool M1 Laser Cutting Machine.
