This beaded wreath style is simplistic and versatile.

The flower and sprigs can be made detachable so you can change it out for different seasons or holidays.

You can hang it so the flower is on the bottom, top or side of the wreath.

I love it the most on the lower left side...which orientation is your favorite?

Supplies Needed for Wood Bead Wreath:

Supplies Needed for Wood Bead Wreath: affiliate links 2 inch Split Wood Balls MDF Wreath Ring 16 inch (Mine's from Hobby Lobby) Hot Glue Gun (I love my Cricut glue gun!) Eucalyptus Stems Baby Breath Sprig Silk Flower (color of your choice) Wire Cutters Bow (optional)

You can use a simple wood bead wreath, where the wire wreath form is filled with round wood beads already.

Wooden bead wreath forms like this are available at the craft store and smaller ones even at Dollar Tree...the kind that have beads on wire and the ends of the wire are looped together.

However, this DIY wood bead wreath uses split wood beads instead of full wooden beads 2 inches big.

Big 2 inch beads would be an extra cost and so much more bulk. (check them out here)

There are different sizes of split ball domes but I love these 2 inch ones.

Step 1: Hot Glue Beads

The first thing for making this wood bead wreath is to plug in the hot glue gun.

I love my Cricut hot glue gun, it heats up so fast and melts the glue sooooo smoothly.

I was skeptical because of the additional cost, but got it on a great Summer deal and I am so happy about it!

Apply a small line of hot glue on the wreath form and place the wood dome on the glue, taking special attention to lining up the wood grain of the balls so they point into the wreath.

This lining up is not necessary, but most people's OCD would agree that it is necessary.

Step 2: Greenery

Now use the wire cutters to trim the ends of the floral stems, faux flowers or faux greenery.

Trim it so that when the ends are lined up in the center of the wreath form that is empty, the greenery goes to the where the first split ball is...it fills the space.

I used eucalyptus leaves and baby's breath, both fake.

Use the hot glue gun to glue the stems down on the center of the wood wreath form.

A simple way to avoid any possible hot glue guns is to press the stem down onto the wreath with the side of a pair of scissors...not your finger.

Let the hot glue cool completely between gluing pieces of greenery so they hold in place firmly.

The important part is filling the whole thing with greenery or bigger florals to make the bottom half of the wreath the fun part!

Step 3: Florals

Finally, the final touch, hot glue smaller flowers or just one silk flower to the center of the greenery stems.

If you want to add multiple smaller flowers, stick to an odd number...like 3 or 5 flowers, an easy way for the perfect wreath balance.

Then get as creative as you want with wreath ideas!

Add elements to your home decor for any time of year.

You can wrap floral wire around the wreath an attach faux lemons, strawberries and other fruit for a Summery vibe.

Add a mini chalkboard and write a cheery message in white chalk paint!

You can add different colors of leaves for a Fall wood bead wreath.

You can even wrap on some Christmas decorations for the perfect DIY holiday wreath.

Or fill the empty space with some dried wildflowers and tie it with a big burlap bow.

Redecorate the split ball wreath for every new season--the beaded vibe is here for a while!

When I was growing up I did not like wreaths.

I did not like big gigantic bows on little baby's heads either. (now, I totally do!)

As I've grown up, I realized I just didn't like the style that was trending then. I didn't love the styrofoam wreath form filled with a mass of very fake looking flowers. Faux flowers have come a LONG way in the last 30 years, so I have to eat my words a little bit. I like making simple wreaths in my own creative style.

Did you know...decorative wreaths came from ancient Greece. The wreaths were made with the harvest from the last year and were supposed to help promote the current crop.

They've been a status of wealth...looking at the laurel leaf crowns. The evergreen wreath symbolizes eternity and are seen in olden day funerals...and even today, caskets are often adorned with wreaths.
Anyway, despite not liking them as a teenager, I can appreciate them in all kinds of varieties now.

This simple DIY wreath is just what my minimalistic heart loves.

It's mostly simple and has some good things on one fourth of the hoop.

I'll probably add a sunflower to it for next season!

These massive 2 inch wood ball halves look impressive and substantial on my door.

I also love big wreaths like this paired with daintier wood ball wreaths.

There's so many options for customization and personalization of your front door jewelry!

The only question left is...
Which orientation do you like the wreath hanging?

I love making beautiful flowers out of paper, they are bright and cheery and look beautiful.

Valentine's day decor is so much fun with shades of pink and red...hearts and flowers...and add some sparkly gold for a crowning finish!

Because these are machine cut, the entire flower is very symmetrical.

These rolled flowers create a perfect 3D effect and they are the easiest way to make easy paper roses from pieces of craft paper.

How to Make a DIY Sandwich Bag Wreath!

This fun and festive sandwich bag wreath is perfect for outdoor decoration...hang on the fence, front door or even hang in the trees!

This is a simple craft that is great for having lots of helpers.  Teach kids how to tie a simple overhand knot in a format that is much more fun than just tying and untying.

Using an inexpensive box of sandwich bags to create a wreath that will look very snow-like and handle winter weather outdoors.

I love Christmas in July, it's the perfect time of year to knock out a few winter projects so they are ready to go in December...or November, if you are like me!

Make a bunch of these this week and store them in a garbage bag in the loft until it's time to decorate for the holidays.
