Christmas Gift Tags with artPOP Markers (Easy DIY)
Make mushroom themed Christmas gift tags with artPOP Infinity Brush Markers.
These easy DIY gift tags are easy to make a bunch and then use the holiday gift tags as they are needed during the holiday season.
The cottage-core vibe of the mushrooms in a cloche or bottle are perfection and the crowning piece to the perfect gift, let's get started!
Supplies Needed for Mushroom Christmas Gift Tags:
I received the Blick Studio Bristol Smooth paper pad and the artPOP markers in exchange for this post.
I love using alcohol ink markers and these artPOP infinity brush markers are wonderful, juicy and smooth...perfect for blending and coloring.
The bristol smooth paper is awesome and the ink from the markers doesn't bleed through...it's similar in weight to white cardstock, but much more smooth...surprisingly smooth!
Step 1: Rubber Stamping
Begin by picking the rubber stamp you are going to use.
You could get a single stamp or 2 at a craft store, but these little photopolymer stamps on amazon are super cheap and super cute.
In this case, begin by selecting the container...first I used the cloche and then I used the jar.
Place the stamp on the acrylic block and press it into the ink pad.
Press the stamp on the bristol smooth paper firmly, but do not rock back and forth on the stamp.
Repeat the stamping, by selecting another stamp for the contents of the jar and the cloche.
I am using the fly agaric and the chanterelle, maybe?
Anyway, repeat the stamping process by placing the new image on the acrylic block and press into the ink and then line up and press onto the paper, placing the mushrooms right in the jar.
I stamped 8 designs on one piece of paper but could have place them much closer together and made many more Christmas tags.
Step 2: Coloring
Now use the 24 pack of artPOP Infinity Brush Markers to color the festive designs.
Alcohol ink markers are smooth and easy to layer.
I colored pretty lightly on these tags, there was no issue with bleeding through the paper.
I love the natural look of the mushrooms and the bright red fly agaric caps!
These fun mushroom stamps would be easy to use on wood slice ornaments too, like this post here.
Continue layering the marker colors on the image until it's colored to perfection.
Step 3: Cutting Tags
Now use a paper cutter or scissors to cut the paper into pretty gift tags, be sure to leave enough room to write family members or friends names on them.
Paper cutters are so awesome for cutting a straight line, but you can use scissors as well.
After cutting them to a rectangle shape, I used scissors to cut the corners off the 2 edges on the opposite side of the stamped image.
Last step, punch a hole in the end and loop some bakers twine or fabric scraps through it for a fun personal touch.
These unique DIY Christmas gift tags are easy to make and keep a stack nearby for those last minute gifts.
They can be used for Christmas decor, like ornament gift tags, added to a box covered in gift wrapping as a special touch, made into a gift card holder or taped to a plastic wrapped covered paper plate filled with treats for neighbor gifts.
Use the artPOP markers to write the recipients name on the tag for the finishing touch!
