DIY Mother's Charms for Floating Locket Necklace!
This is the perfect custom gift idea for the mother in your life!
Hilarious little shrunken heads in a locket!
You will need:
Grafix Shrink Film, Printable, White Inkjet, 6-Pack
Scissors
Oven or toaster oven
Floating Charm Locket Pendant Necklace with Snake Chain
I got mine from Doreenbeads.com, they have a big selection of Floating Lockets!
It's easy. Just find some adorable pictures of your future charms.
I used photoshop to select their head shape and lay it out to print.
They need to measure about 3/4 inch tall...they will shrink to about 1/4 inch.
I went with an updo hairstyle for my daughter...I think it's easier than cutting long hair.
Your choice.
Cut around all the little heads.
Place them on a parchment lined baking sheet with the picture side up!
Then bake in the oven at 350* ...watch them!
They will curl up and then flatten out...then they are done.
Takes 3-5 minutes.
Remove from oven and let cool...just a few minutes.
The pigment compresses as it shrinks, so the colors will darken slightly.
So, you can lighten up the pictures a bit before printing.
Add to your floating locket...and voila!
A fabulous custom locket! You could add the little birthstone gems too!
I love it. I am totally wearing mine on Mother's day!
