First off, I got these fabulous cotton fabric totes from Oriental Trading!
They come in all colors. They are very light weight, but they are a good size.
You will also need 2 fat quarters of yellow and green fabric!
You will also need heat transfer fabric interfacing, the sewable kind.
I got this from Silhouette, but you can find it at any fabric store.
I used a sheet of paper to draw a pattern.
Just fold it in half and cut.
Then cut the top off.
Use the pattern to cut the fabric pieces.
Iron out the wrinkles.
Then set the fabric with the wrong side on the rough side of the fabric interfacing.
Then cut the interfacing to fit the shape.
Then iron the fabric to the interfacing, just like you cut it.
Peel off the paper backing from the interfacing.
Place on the fabric tote and iron gently.
Place the crown on the pineapple and iron on.
Now it is ironed, but needs to be sewn to hold completely.
Use a sewing machine and add a stitch around the pineapple.
You can do a decorative stitch or a crazy stitch.
I just did a perfect straight stitch.
Super cute and great favor for young women or other
summer camp groups with a pineapple or Luau theme!
Easy to make!
Great for teaching basic sewing skills to tweens and teens too!
